The Order of the Temple of Archallem was established in 2003 by Frater Archeus. Archeus admits to being inspired by John Michael Greer’s Inside a Magical Lodge and Dion Fortune’s Esoteric Orders and their Work. Believing that Ritual Magic, in the Western Tradition, is a viable means of achieving spiritual enlightenment, that groups of serious practitioners can be difficult to find and that magic should be a balanced practice - Archeus established a lodge open to both mature men and women serious about their pursuit of occult knowledge.
The Order taps into egregors and teachings established by such magical fraternities as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, the Aurum Solis and the Church of the Hermetic Sciences. Probationers of the Order study elemental correspondences, symbolism, magical laws and axioms, the Qabalistic tree of life, fundamental ritual techniques and they must learn the ancient Hebrew aleph-bet. The lodge has also developed its own primary mythology and structure, which the serious student must also learn.
It is the purpose and the mission of the Order to:
- Operate as a private Ceremonial/Ritual Magic Lodge
- Provide instructional guidance to members in traditional esoteric knowledge
- Foster individual members personal development and growth using the ancient magical arts
- Create and perform sacred and unique initiation and celebration rituals in conjunction with the traditional solar calendar
- Create and maintain degrees of the Order congruent with the individual member’s development
